AUTOBEDRIJF MEURRENS
Terms & conditions
These general terms and conditions apply to all quotations, orders, maintenance services, repairs, the supply of parts, and the sale of pre-owned vehicles by Autobedrijf Meurrens.
Any deviations from these terms shall only apply if expressly agreed upon in writing.
The statutory rights of consumers remain unaffected. In the event that any provision within these terms conflicts with mandatory legislation, the law shall take precedence.
2. Quotations and Price Estimates
Quotations and price estimates are prepared based on the information available at the time of the request.
A price estimate may be subject to change if additional defects, hidden damage, or other necessary repairs are discovered during the course of the work.
Should any additional work significantly affect the agreed-upon price or the scope of the assignment, the customer will be informed in advance and their consent will be requested.
For private customers, all prices are quoted inclusive of VAT, unless explicitly stated otherwise and permitted by law.
3. Maintenance and Repairs
Work shall be carried out in accordance with the agreed-upon work order and applicable technical specifications.
Autobedrijf Meurrens is committed to performing all work with due care and professionalism.
If additional issues are identified during maintenance or repairs, the customer will be notified.
No additional repairs will be performed without prior consent, except in cases where immediate action is required to prevent an acute hazard or to limit further damage. The customer will be informed of such actions as soon as possible. 4. Parts and materials
For maintenance and repairs, original parts or other suitable parts may be used, depending on the agreements made with the customer.
If a specific part is unavailable, the customer will be informed if this affects the execution of the work or the delivery timeline.
Upon the customer’s request, replaced parts can be shown or returned, provided that this is legally, technically, and contractually feasible.
5. Execution timelines
Stated execution timelines are based on the estimated duration of the work and the availability of parts.
In the event of unforeseen circumstances, technical complications, or delays from suppliers, the customer will be notified as soon as possible.
A delay does not automatically entitle the customer to compensation or cancellation free of charge. However, the customer’s statutory rights remain applicable.
6. Appointments and cancellations
Customers may schedule an appointment via the online booking tool, by phone, or directly at Autobedrijf Meurrens.
Customers are requested to provide timely notice if they are unable to keep a scheduled appointment.
When scheduling an appointment, the customer must provide the necessary and accurate vehicle details, along with as complete a description as possible of the requested work.
Online appointments are subject to the terms and conditions and the availability of the booking tool being used.
7. Payment and invoicing
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, invoices are payable upon collection of the vehicle or delivery of the goods.
Payment may be made using the payment methods accepted by Autobedrijf Meurrens at the time of payment. In the case of an agreement where payment is permitted after delivery or service, the due date stated on the invoice shall apply.
Any disputes regarding an invoice must be communicated in writing as soon as possible, specifying the reason for the dispute.
A dispute does not automatically exempt the customer from their obligation to pay the amounts that are not in dispute.
8. Late payment
For private customers (consumers)
If a consumer fails to pay an invoice on time, they will first receive a payment reminder, free of charge.
Following this reminder, the consumer is granted a statutory waiting period of at least 14 calendar days before any late-payment interest or contractually agreed-upon charges may be applied.
In this regard, Autobedrijf Meurrens complies with the provisions of Book XIX of the Code of Economic Law.
For professional customers
For agreements between businesses, the agreed-upon payment terms apply, as do—where applicable—the statutory rules concerning late payments in commercial transactions.
9. Retention of title
To the extent permitted by law, all goods and parts supplied remain the property of Autobedrijf Meurrens until the full agreed-upon price has been paid.
This provision does not affect the customer’s statutory rights.
10. Sale of second-hand vehicles
Upon the sale of a second-hand vehicle, the buyer shall receive all legally required documents and information.
The features, equipment, mileage, condition of the vehicle, and any specific terms of sale are stated in the sales agreement or the accompanying documents.
In the case of sales to consumers, statutory warranty rules apply.
For used vehicles, a statutory warranty period of two years generally applies. Through an explicit and clear agreement in the sales contract, this period may be limited to a minimum of one year.
Normal wear and tear, the age of the vehicle, and its mileage are assessed within the framework of the applicable statutory warranty. The statutory warranty cannot be waived or nullified by a general exclusion clause.
11. Warranty on maintenance and repairs
Autobedrijf Meurrens guarantees that the agreed-upon work will be carried out correctly and in accordance with applicable law.
Any defects related to the work performed must be reported as soon as possible so that the issue can be investigated.
The customer is requested to make the vehicle available for inspection or diagnosis.
Any warranties provided by manufacturers or suppliers apply in addition to, and cannot limit, the customer’s statutory rights.
12. Liability
Autobedrijf Meurrens is liable in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.
The company cannot be held liable for damage resulting solely from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer, misuse of the vehicle, or circumstances for which the company is not legally responsible.
Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes liability where such an exclusion is prohibited by law. 13. Personal items in vehicles
Customers are requested to remove valuable personal items from their vehicle before bringing it in for maintenance or repairs.
Autobedrijf Meurrens takes reasonable measures to ensure that vehicles entrusted to its care are handled with due diligence.
Legal liability for loss, theft, or damage remains applicable.
14. Personal data
Autobedrijf Meurrens processes personal data exclusively for legitimate purposes, including customer management, the execution of service requests, invoicing, and compliance with legal obligations.
Further information regarding the processing of personal data, retention periods, and the rights of data subjects can be found in the privacy statement at:

15. Complaints and disputes
Autobedrijf Meurrens strives to provide fair and customer-oriented service.
In the event of complaints or comments, customers are requested to contact us via info@meurrens.vw.be, preferably including the invoice or work order number.
The parties shall endeavor to resolve any disputes through mutual consultation.
If an amicable resolution cannot be reached, the courts shall have jurisdiction in accordance with applicable legal regulations.
These agreements are governed by Belgian law, without prejudice to any mandatory legal protections afforded to the customer.
16. Validity of these terms and conditions
These general terms and conditions apply from the version date stated above.
The terms and conditions are made available to the customer prior to or at the time of concluding the agreement. Autobedrijf Meurrens may amend the terms and conditions for future agreements. Such amendments shall not have retroactive effect on agreements already concluded, unless permitted by law and validly agreed upon.
Should any provision be found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect, provided that the agreement can remain in existence without that provision.
